Metal gate dilemma

Hi everyone,

As what the title says... I've got a problem and is open for alternative solutions with a DIY project. I was only supposed to paint over the gate but I got interested in stripping the existing paint to remove the uneven coat and the rust.

I've stripped most of the paint away using a paint stripper, a scraper and a steel brush. Now the problem is there are some areas of the gate that are hard to reach like some corners, the tips, and the bottom parts. I'm thinking of buying a steel wool to brush it off.

Also, I've been working with it for a few weeks now and I'm also thinking if there is an even easier way of stripping the paint away or if I'm doing something wrong with the stripper. I don't have any power tools (yet..) but I am thinking of it as an option.

Can I just paint over some sections or will this cause an uneven coat again?

Also, if you can comment on these ideas:

There are some rusted sections that I'm planning to put a rust converter on. Is that okay?
Some corners have holes due to rust. I'm planning to buy a paintable sealant to patch it up. Is that okay too?

Hi,

I found TURKO rust converter effective. I apply it after cleaning the rusted part. I wait for a day, clean it up a bit again and then apply primer before painting.
