Hello to all.

Can anybody please suggest a good vacuum cleaner to purchase. I would want to have something powerful enough to clean cars and for household use. I would appreciate if you could also give me some idea on prices.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help ....

if you're really bent on using a single vacuum cleaner for home and car, I suggest get a vacuum cleaner with attachments that would allow you to reach into the nooks and crannies of your car.

I have chance to get a Shop Vac Hang Up Pro Vacuum for a good price. However it is rated at 4.5 HP @ 110 Volts. What capacity of step down transformer do you think I will need to be able to run this cleaner.

Wow, 4.5 hp x 745 w/hp = 3,353 watts. Just buy a 220v unit.

Yes, I think I'm dropping the idea of this 110V vacuum now. My existing Stac Stabilizer is only rated at 1.5 KVA.

tks for the reply ....

I "invested" on an Italian made Soteco wet/dry vacuum cleaner worth Php 21k. Since it was expensive, I didn't wan't to use it a lot, so I also bought a cheaper vacuum cleaner- Shopvac (US made?) for only Php 6k- pang "laspag".
You know what, the Shopvac despite being used and abused more often, outlived the Soteco!
And by the way, I didn't bother to fix the Soteco because the spareparts of the Soteco can already buy a brand new unit of Shopvac.

I purchased the Shop Vac Hung Up Pro for a tad over 7K. Made in China. I've had it now for a few weeks and so far it's holding out well.

I agree 100%! I kind of inherited an ancient Shop Vac, honestly I don't know how old it is. Despite all the abuse and the long years of service, it is still alive and kicking.
