Those felt products that you could buy in bookstores are "felt papers" From the name itself the backing material is paper. What you'll need is velvet textile which looks like felt paper but backed with cloth.

yeah i was thinking of the felt paper.
If i were to use the textile, how can i attach it to the box? Please dont tell me contact cement :( i still dont like that stuff hehe
I think hot glue is used. Sorry I've no idea where to get the cloth though.

Or you may use fabric glue like "Sew No More" from Bostik. I have tried that and It holds well specially for your project.

it is called "flocking" Ben, haven't checked bookstores. glue and powder lang yan... but not as simple as it sounds, though not complicated.
For felt cloth, try VC Trading (http://vctrading.multiply.com/), 2/F, New Farmers Plaza, Araneta Center, Cubao. Below Handyman, behind Bench.

This is a 'big' cloth store. They have many different kinds of cloth ... except what I was looking for, which is nylon (cloth not mesh), e.g., ripstop, Cordura, ballistic.
