Does any one have ideas or drawings of how to make a simple (metal) candle stand? (got tired of using soda bottles)
We got a taste of wide spread blackouts again, now that the typhoon season had set in. I got pissed the other day when I found one of my Glass Candle Stands was broken by neighbor kids. It was a good simple device because of its 2.5 inch base and 8 inch stem, doesn’t crowd the dining table too much and slips in between the dishes.
A romantic one would be plus points from the wife of course. ;)

i made one before as a school project
i used PVC pipe before plus some used cooking oil plastic container (the thick ones) for the base and design
i made a flower petal design
its a pain to cut the plastic for design though
i don't know of its durability though but it certainly is good to look at
its quite nice to give it to someone after the final touches using poster paints (acrylic is better but is also more expensive)... aerosol car paint would also look good maybe (i don't know if it will melt the plastic though)

I got it from a store which exports metal crafts, a long, long time ago. proudly pinoy made
! was also intrigue by the middle part hehe. Just thought it may add a little romantic touch, as well as a conversation piece.
If its a real challenge to mold or weld, maybe sir john-jo can skip the middle part.....

btw,
Cognac bottles may be a good alternate for the soda pops. looks more appealing and more stable, too..

the middle part is integral to the main body and not welded Ramon, I know someone who has the tool to do those.

Well... I'm thinking more of ...in the line of unraveling a 2 inch section from a big size steel cable or electrical cable. ( you think meralco will notice a short section missing from the tye cable pulling the electric post??? hahaha -joke.)
On the other hand, i could just untwist after twisting, a bunch of solid tw#10 or #8 shouldn't be too hard to handle.. a bench vise and locking pliers..
This would probably be inserted inside a tube of sorts..
Thanks Timb... thanks Bob...
