    Re: Best choice of Ground Covers for pocket gardens or large lawns

    [QUOTE=rosy;23762]@ Ashock,

    Nope I don,t use any sprinkler on my lawn nor use drippers on my plants, I leave it to the Lord above to water my lawn and plants but during summer time I water all of them twice or thrice a week. I have a huge concrete water reservoir built here in my place.[/Q

    Saan kaya may mabibilhan ng dripper hose7pipe(for plants ang flowers) at sprinkler and diffuser(yung umaangat kapag time na magdilig)- rainbird or hunter brand, mark nelson okay na din.

    or automatic gadget(water timer) na ikinakabit lang sa gripo then with hose pwede na magdilig automatically using impulse or compact circular water sprinkler(itinutusok lang sa lupa).

    Balak ko kasi magkaroon din ng magandang garden.

      Well good for you if you can really realize your dream of having a nice or beautiful garden of your own. Why don't you visit ORTIGAS Home Depot or TRUE Value at the Shangrila in Mandaluyong, they have garden sections there and you can ask some informations sa mga sales clerks doon.

        I heard about frog grass, ok kaya? Tinaggal ko kasi na ang blue grass dahil mas madami na ang unwanted grass kesa blue grass. For the soil preparation, balak ko ay haluan ng 50% sand ang soil kasi tumigas na ang garden soil.

          I suppose for your soil preps, you need to cultivate the soil after which you water it regularly, maybe twice a day. Yes "frog grass" would just be fine if you prefer that type. Its similar to "carabao grass" but does not grow upwards but more of side ways, its also a low maintenance ground cover. Just needs to be fertilized ones a month.

          Oh I forgot to mention, instead of adding white sand (buhangin) to the soil, better yet add rice husks (ipa), this is good for drainage and moisture retention of your soil.

          Good luck and happy gardening !!

            Currently, I cultivated it to rid the unwanted grass and let it dry/die, Matigas na talaga ang lupa, masakit sa kamay gawain. I will start planting when the rain comes regularly.

              Ang lupa pag walang moisture o tubig ay tuyot at matigas kaya ito ay kailangang i cultivate o basagin muli tapos dinidiligan para mabuhay ang itatanim na mga halaman !!
