  • Need help: Frameless shower enclosure measurement

I found a relatively cheap glass supply, but im having trouble with the final measurement of the glass panels.

Project: frameless shower enclosure, swing type, wall to wall
    Distance between walls: 84cm
Door width: 59cm (without considering the gaps for hinges and water trimming)
Fixed panel size: 25cm (also without considering the gaps for hinges and water trimming)

Known: I have known that the door should be 1.3cm shorter than the fixed panel.
Unknown: I do not know how much gap should i consider for the hinges and in between the door and fixed panel.

    Theory:
    1. Should I deduct 1cm of width from both door and fixed panel?
    2. Should i deduct 2cm from door and 1cm from fixed panel?

Allowances will depend on the glass fittings and trimmings. You should buy first the fittings and trimmings and deduct the allowances to get the size of the glass.

I'm quite sure you already considered this, but I'm going to ask anyway for the benefit of other readers who might overlook it.

        Is it safety glass?

For frameless shower enclosure I order my tempered glass and fittings at Glasstemp. I just give them the opening na lalagyan ng shower enclosure. Sila na rin gagawa ng cutting list ng glass based sa fittings nila. If the glass is already tempered wala ka na magagawa. Pag sumikip or lumuwag sa allowance sa wall ka na mag adjust.

Take note the glass must be tempered sa mga shower enclosure for safety reason.

sounds like a friendly supplier. The one i found was quite unhelpful with the measurements. Cant force them as they dont want to be blamed if anything went wrong. thanks for the tip btw.

tempered glass 10mm as suggested by suppliers.
edit: i just saw the photo i uploaded was resized down to an unreadable version.
