    @ Jarod

This is the first time I'm hearing "coking". Does it remove rust too?

On the vinegar I noticed that the rust became loose that when I lightly scrape it it literally falls out.

I'll power wash this pliers and then put it back in fresh vinegar.

Here I just power washed it. OK na siguro ito wala ng rust. Just rust marks so pwede na fine sand paper then soak ko na lang sa oil muna.

Sige oil bath / spa muna siya ... after a bit of sanding and a random pass on the bench wire wheel ....LOL

I could make it look prettier but that means bringing out the Dremel and a small wire wheel. Overkill na siguro yun .

Ok na ito. Heyco Piston Ring pliers 200 pesos + 15 pesos vinegar. LOL

It was the vinegar that made rust cleaning easy. Jarod says that a orig vinegar will be better and I believe it would. Acetic acid lifts off rust from the metal.

Yep, just like the vinegar the acid in the coke eats up the rust.

I don't think so. It only works up to the rust marks. This the first time I tried this but on my observation it basically floats the rust so you can at times even peel if off the metal surface.

You can use diluted muriatic acid to remove & etch the rust. After removing the rust soak it in diluted baking soda to neutralized the acid.

Iron reacts with muriatic acid and releases dangerous fumes be sure you wear your personal protective equipment.

I'll try this next time when I get baking soda. Let's see if it can do a better job and work on the rust marks too.

Actually Jay what I meant is the opposite. The real ones are sour due to the natural fermentation unlike the synthetic ones which are basically composed of water acetic acid and caramel to add some taste and color. So the synthetic ones (mostly the ones we buy in the grocery even if they claim to be all natural) are better to use because it contains real acid made by man.

I know because I used to make vinegar way before I knew what was acid all about.
