This is an old thread, but that doesn't mean we no longer encounter frozen nuts and bolts.

this is how i deal when removing frozen or even broken bolt..
four broken bolts from a 1.5 hp power spray motor.

after fill weld the bolt (build up)

then use vise grip to loosened the bolt by swinging motion..

after repeating the procedure,i manage to remove four broken bolts

btw..do this rod angle for more accuracy when spot welding the bolt and use wd40 of course!

But why this specific angle of the rod, will the usual bit forward position not work ? Please educate us bro bugel !.

well..it work but i will be place in uncomfortable and awkward position which will cause not hitting the work piece properly that can cause welded the bolt to the base and i don't want it to happen..

so i change the angle just like this..for better aiming and control of the rod..just simply point it straight toward the bolt.you must be patient when doing this, one spot weld at a time then remove the slag repeat this process until the vise grip can grasp the bolt..

Thanks bro bugel, but I know how it is done, you just apply a bead after bead building up the stud so the vise grip can grasp a piece of that wasted bolt and can already be twisted. :banana1: :barmy:

HMMMMM, its just the positioning of the rod that is puzzling me. Anyway we all have our own ways where we find it most comfortable to apply the bead correctly and to our advantage. :2thumbsup:

now here is mine...
i have a table saw where its arbors end has a slot for the allen wrench, and a nut threaded to it...my problem is that, the allen socket is ill fitting and somehow, the corners are rounded already...so i need help on how to remove the arbor nut so i can replace the blade.

i havent done anything stupid yet. i only sprayed dw40...ayaw pa din and yun nga..lumuluwag yung hold ng allen wrench.

Hope you can post a pic or two of that arbor nut you have mentioned. Its kinda hard to just
be trying to imagine or figure out how the nut would look or appear now for others that may
have a way to help you remove that nut.

hehehe..thanks bro...just imagine a table saw top, the throat plate removed, blade fully raised, then you see the threaded arbor shaft with its center has an allen slot on its end, of course, the 12" blade is stuck onto it...

sorry i cant post a pic now..the shop is shut...

here is a link to a pic similar to mine...but not exactly like it.

i can only use a single wrench to remove the blade, there is no arbor lock, and like i said, the arbor shafts end has a slot for a 9mm allen wrench.

i am thinking of spot welding a bolt at the end of the arbor shaft so i can use another wrench to unlock the arbor nut.

are there pros and cons doing this?
