Hi guys,
Again for a aircraft scratch built may I ask if anybody knows of a supplier round wood dowels here in the Philippines. I have checked home depot and the likes to no avail.
thanks
Re: 8mm wood dowel
Sadly, I have to buy mine abroad.
Or, for short ones, I make them myself using some plug cutter bits on my drill press. You can get them in the tool section of mall hardwares (DIY, Handyman, Ace, true Value) though they're not very common.
It's hard drilling as you will be drilling into end-grain.

Check this thread, which also has pointers to other related threads:
Doweling
Supply situation may have changed since then (improved?).
I assume you are looking for rods not pins. I saw rods in the hobby store mentioned in above thread. I remember that they said that they could order if they did not happen to have in stock the sizes that you want. IIRC, their source was Balsa USA.
As their rods were from US, they were imperial. Finding metric rods may be harder. OTOH, metric pins were available locally. Have not seen imperial pins locally.

Ha-ha. Thanks for correcting me, Guad. I was even in that thread you linked and completely forgot about it already. Tumatanda na.
