hi,

this time i'm in the hunt for an m3, 0.5mm pitch flat head screw for laptop hard disk. any idea where to get one? shops in gilmore don't sell these if they do have one. screw shops around only carry large screws/bolts.

as in all cases, i prefer locally available ones - i only need 2 pcs.

I have a broken laptop lying around somewhere. I'll check it out.

As a last resort, the mall stores have M3 (6 10 16 mm for flat head) -- upper row of pictures, 2nd from left. Pay through the nose, but at least only 2 pieces.

Seems the To Suys of this world start at M5, correct me if wrong. Anyone know of sources for M4 and smaller besides the expensive mall ones above?

The Bosch and Makita routers use M4 and M5 for their bases ... had to get the M4 ones from the mall.

Finally! I've acquired a couple of M3 x 6 x 0.5 from Y2K San Juan - just perfect for my application.

Now I'm able to whack in the 1TB 2.5 HDD for my media player! - I lost the provided screws that's why I hunted for 2.

Strange, Y2K is where I went looking for M4 before and they had none, only M5 and up. Now I can't remember ... whether it could have been just M4 stainless that they did not have or M4 of any kind.
