Good morning,

Any of you experts can shed some light regarding Shera Ficem compare to other Ficem board.
The thing is my supplier advised SheraBoard 1/4 over Hardiflex 3.5mm

http://www.mahaphant.com/en/our-products/Fiber-Cement-Board-Siding.jsp?prdid=75

TIA.

May I ask why he recommends SheraBoards over Hardiflex?

What are its avantages over the other?

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

Thanks sir joey81,

Sabi nya its the same as Hardiflex and the price is difference is almost 100php for the same 1/4 size.
I'm buying a 3.5mmHardilte until she introduced the Shera board 1/4. If Shera is almost good as Hardilite at 1/4 I may give it a try. What do you think? ofcourse I didn't grab it yet sabi ko sa kanya give me till Sat. to decide before delivering.

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

Hey Boggieman,

According to the link you gave which I copied a paragraph and pasted here,

[COLOR="Teal"]SHERA board, high-quality, environmentally-friendly fiber cement board by SHERA, is a unique composite of natural fibers tightly bonded in a high-grade silicate structure. This fiber cement board is painstakingly created using autoclave technology which is the highest standard of fiber cement production technology. Thus, SHERA board is immensely tough yet remains flexible and dimensionally stable.

If it says here is true that it is immensely tough yet remains flexible and stable in dimensions, then I guess this material can compete with our local Hardiflex which is more brittle and a bit more expensive. Their product seems to be ok !

Maybe its worth the try !!! ::) :juggle:

Thanks rosy,

Maybe its worth the try !!!

I guess it means me :D. I'm thinking buying 10 pcs. for now, since it will cover my most of my exterior ceiling. By the way I'm sure this is asked before, can I ficem board stand several screwing and unscrewing.

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

Unfortunately I did not order the Shera from the suking hardware, It turns out what she meant by 1/4 is 4.5mm. I don't like the idea of misinforming customers. I ended up to another hardware cost is 385php for the 4.5mm, if the weather is favorable will post my update this weekend.

By the way I checked Homedepot they carry Shera board plus other parts like eaves, cornice etc. price for 4.5mm is 400php.

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

@Boggieman,

When you asked a hardware personnel there answers is always misleading. That's why I always specify the thickness in millimeter (mm). Whether its metal, ficem board, gypsum board, plywood or mdf.

Just make sure that there are not two versions being made, asbestos and non-asbestos, with the asbestos one being sold here. Other pages elsewhere specifically say 'no asbestos' but the webpage you posted is silent.

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

I think it's non-asbestos and there is a 6mm thickness available too, if that's what you really need.

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

Do you know other supplier of shera board other than Glorious Morning? They are not accommodating and very arrogant to talk to.

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

CW HOME DEPOT carries SHERA ....... they're usually located at the back, together with their wood products.

Re: Anyone tried Shera board.

Gave SHERA a try, So far, so good. bought 4.0mm for ceilings and 6.0mm for walls. much much cheaper than hardiflex. I personally liked their Ceiling Vent boards, particularly the "modern" model. (perforated holes on 60x120x4mm board)
