Hello, anyone here have any experience with JackBilt? Their factory in Pampanga is near our place and I'm thinking of using their blocks on our build.

Thanks

From what I have heard, JackBilt blocks are tough and are well made with very nice external finish. I think its more
expensive than the ordinary hollow blocks made and sold by neighborhood hardware stores.

Yes S'Rosy visited their factory at Pampanga and was impressed by their blocks although medyo pricey they quoted me for Php23.50 for 4inch at 24.50 for 6inch. They are load bearing @700 psi ang bigat nun 6inch parang 15kilos, still studying though kasi mas prefer ko yung conventional build with columns and beams kesa sa load bearing walls which it was built for parang overbuild kasi kung i use their block then build conventionally.

I don't mind overbuild basta close ang cost.

I did some quick pencil pushing ang based on P17/pc chb I got from the internet vs P24.50 for Jackbilt with assuptions of 4 walls with 8m x 3m dimensions less 20% for windows = 1,200 pcs chb @ 12.5pcs/sqm x P7.50 price difference per chb = P9,900.00.

This is the amount that needs to be offset by savings from concrete mold forms, at least for 1 floor house, iba na kasi computation when we have 2nd floor because the buhos beams will be replaced by beam blocks.

I'm not kasi an engineer pero isa rin sa pumasok sa isip ko is the weight of the walls magiging heavier ang walls so baka need din lakihan o tibayan ang beams and posts dahil sa added weight. kung you go modular (load bearing design) Bugadenk makakatipi ka sa formworks kasi not needed na yung posts at beams, meron na silang substitute blocks for those. Kasi ako prefer ko pa rin beams at posts pa rin. Tipid din ata sa finishing kasi makinis na yung blocks nila kaunti na lang plastering.

Updating this thread, kamusta na Bro Maki? Any update on your building? Did you use Jackbilt o conventional pa rin?

Hindi pa ako nakapagsimula kasi ang bagal mag process ng papeles ng developer na binilhan ko ng lote. Hopefully by March makaporma na ako.
