I would like to ask for your opinion about ready mix concrete vs. cement bags. I always hear na makatipid daw pag ready mix cement ang gamitin. Is this true even pag 2 storey house and not pang building?
When is it really advise able to use ready mix cement and when to use cement per bag?
Salamat in advance. . .

The answer to your question needs a cost comparison between conventional concrete pouring (ex. using 1 bagger concrete mixer) vs ready mix concrete.

Mag ready mix concrete ka lang naman sa 2nd floor slab. Foundations and columns madali lang naman buhusan ng concrete. If the area ng 2nd floor slab na buhusan mo ay around 100-200 sq.m. conventional concrete pouring using 1 bagger mixer is must cheaper.

We have done ready mix concrete pouring on 2nd floor slab of two storey house with an area of 286. sq.m that requires around 60 cubic meters of concrete (12 trucks). The cost of including manpower, pumpcrete, ready mix concrete is higher by P20K compare if we are going to used 1 bagger mixer. Job done in 1/2 day only compare to 2-3 days using 1 bagger mixer.

Re: Cement: Ready Mix or Not?

Less than 100sqm, 1day lang yan using 1 bagger concrete mixer. A day before dapat nakaset-up na. Check the formworks if all properly set. Dapat ready na lahat and you have enough cement, sand and concrete.

Re: Cement: Ready Mix or Not?

another thing is, the smallest ready concrete mixer you can order is 5 cum. But if you are after strength, use ready mix no matter the cost.

Re: Cement: Ready Mix or Not?

If 100 sq.m slab around 10 cu.m of concrete + the volume of beams, columns and girder. You need to compute for the total volume required. OK lang na kulang ng konti yun ready mix concrete. Manual mix mo na lang to fill. Pag sobra sayang yun concrete you pay for it.

You need to add the cost of concrete pump around P8K to 10K per setup. Or will you manually transport the fresh concrete? You need to add manpower on this.

Things that also need to consider using ready mix concrete.
If your living in a subdivision does your homeowners assoc allowed 10 wheeler trucks to enter the vicinity.
If yes, Will they charge you for the delivery? Delivery cost/per truck?
Do you have an area on the construction site to park the concrete mixer & concrete pump. This will need a lot of space. If you have a one or two lane roadway this can cause traffic congestion especially on a busy street. Allowed 1-2 manpower to man the traffic.
