Re: Concrete Acid Stains

i have tried doing DIY on concrete staining.. i used half kilo Iron sulfate mixed it with 4 gallons and 200 ml muriatic acid.. mopped it over the driveway floor... it produced a rust colored surface when it dried.. for deeper color apply again then apply concrete sealer.. You can also use magnesium sulfate or copper sulfate although more expensive per kilo

Re: Concrete Acid Stains

you can try using rusted metals instead of iron sulphate mixed with muriatic acid, leave it for several days to deepen the color, dilute with water then mop, or spread it with paint brush over the desired area.

if you want different color, try using copper wires, this will produce greenish color as oposed to yellow-brown from iron crystals.

I am a newbie here and I am interested in the DIY on concrete acid stains. The church I used to attend mass at in the U.S. had very nice concrete acid stain floors and I would like to copy it (at least come close to it) on our terrace here in the Philippines. I have some rusted leftover iron bars at home. my question is will these rusted iron bars that I have do and how much should I mix with the muriatic acid or should I just eyeball it? Thank you.
