Hello, obviously I have no idea anything about construction. My situation is I'm helping a friend economically improve his offices. Right now, the divisions in his office are made of wood. I'm going to propose to him to make it concrete so it's better against fire and has better soundproofing. I'd like to ask for help on how much and what are the materials would it require? Including smooth finish. In my estimation, one shared wall is roughly 6 meters wide and less then 4 meters high.

Thank you and enjoy the week

materials

screen sand para sa filing ng hollow blocks
fine sand para sa rough finishing
hollow block
8mm / 10mm deformed bar
tie wire or alambre
portland cement
skim coat for finishing

how much? hindi ko kaya masagot kasi iba-iba ang price ng materials at labor cost sa bawat lugar dito sa philippines

up for this, i hope someone can give us an appropriate cost range per square meter area of a CHB wall as thread starter specified. Maybe we can use the criteria provided by irobuang above as basis (+paint finish). thank you 🙂

@ mig21, there was already an old post here in PHM about this costing per sqm of wall, i just could not remember when and where it was posted. actually, it was my starting point for creating an excel file of my cost estimate for our house construction ... below is my estimate per sqm of wall excluding painting ...

materials for the basic structure of the wall and the price i got here in tampakan:
sand - 1200 per 5 cubic meter
4" CHB - 7.25 each (this includes delivery charge)
9mm standard deformed bar - 110 each
tie wire #16 - 70 per kg
cement - 245 per bag (brand is Mayon - different price per brand, APO is 265 per bag)

others:
screen mesh for sand - 1 meter wire mesh is 90 pesos

per sqm of wall using a 4" CHB, this are the things you will consume:
- 0.0532 cubic meter of sand
- 0.3133 bag of cement
- 2m of 9mm bar (vertical and horizontal 1m each)
- 12.50 pieces of CHB

for plastering (one side only ; multiply by 2 to include other side) a 1 sqm of wall with a 12mm depth of plaster:
- 0.0103 cubic meter of sand
- 0.0605 bag of cement

for mortar, the ratio is 1:6 and for plastering the ratio is 1:3 ; also add 5% for waste ...

i hope this information helps ... cheers

Boo!

@ mig21, i need to mention that credit should go to my singapore (architects / engineers) friends, as they were the ones who provided me with much of the info (even the area of the holes in a CHB) ... all i really did was to just create an excel file to compute the amount of materials needed 🙂 ... cheers

Hello,Question lang po,is it safe to assume na 30 pcs of chb would require 1 bag of cement since every 1 square meter of wall(12.5 pcs chb) will use .313 bag of cement sa mortaring

@ JohnyBlaze, i made the estimate based on the plan of our house way before construction started. basically i used it as one my basis for reviewing the quotation of the contractors i talk to determine if their price is "just right" for the project. its the minimum amount of material based on the parameters (e.g. ratio of cement and sand). it cannot go lower than that to meet the standards i want for our house. 1 bag of cement per 30 pcs of 4" CHB is ok for a quick estimate of the cement to be use. it's higher but any excess can be use for plastering the wall ... cheers

Boo!
