Re: Dry Ice

Depends where you are because if its too far, by the time you get home, the dry ice might have evaporated already, so having an icebox might buy you some time.

Last I remember the Magnolia ice cream factory(?) along Aurora Blvd sells them.

Re: Dry Ice

To make the dry ice last longer, pack them in layers of newspaper (paper is a very good insulator). Then when its time to use, just remove the papers. Just remember, the more paper you remove the faster things will cool and also the faster the ice will evaporate. 😉

Re: Dry Ice

try these if you are in Metro Manila

Philippine CO2 Industry Inc. - 525 M. Naval St., Navotas Tel.No. 261-7962. Price is around P50/kg. Available only early morning. Reserve a day before.

My Way Dry Ice - 56-B Sta. Monica St., Pasay City Tel. No. 551-0377. Price is P80/kg. Available all day.

Caution in using/handling Dry Ice!!
- never put container with dry ice inside an air-con vehicle, remember this is compressed liquid CO2 which will turn to gas. Extreme nausea will hit you.
- you can not keep Dry ice long enough in the freezer because dry ice temp is -40C, you will end-up just cooling your freezer.
- escaping gas in dry ice is an "explosive" material. keep away from open flame.
