Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

HI there bro icewebber,

WOW BRO, 1000sqm is 1000sqm is lots of space , its no joke to have it cemented entirely and am sure malaki laki rin gagastosin mo dyan in terms of rebars, gravel and sand, maybe a few hundreds of cement bags and then there is the labor costs. If you intend to do it yourself or your way, divide your lot into maybe 100sqm to find out if that space can be done in a day plus you will know the number of 10mm rebars will be used plus the tie wires, the number of cement bags will be consumed and kung ilang cubiko ng buhangin at graba ang magagamit, plus of course a continues supply of water. 😉

Maybe this way you can estimate the cost for the 100sqm and just multiply it by 10 to get the total expense. Possibly a 5" or 6" thickness of concrete will be enough since bilaran lang naman ng palay, actually 4" thick will do as long as the concrete is properly and rightfully mixed. Also try to rent a concrete mixer para mabilis ang trabaho. Usually mixture is 1:2:3 or 1:3:3.

Good luck bro. :juggle:

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

based in my experience & from an engineers/friend our cement/sand/gravel mixture is 1cemeny 3pail sand & 4pail gravel (we use a 4 galloon pail) this mixture will cover 1 cu.m

In order to produce 1 cu.m. of concrete you need approximately 9bags of Cement for 1:3:4 ratio.

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

Forgot to mention its very important to vibrate the concrete correctly,(like Goldilocks not too much not too little, just right).
Use the thicker conc. in the areas were there will be only light traffic, at the enterance it might be a good idea to thicken it up to 10".
Yes a 10mm rebar mesh at 10"c/c would be good.

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

On the cheaper side, Im planning 6" (reinforced pavement: around 250 sq. meter) for the front part of the lot so that medium sized trucks can get it. The rest will 2-3" (will that suffice?)

2-3" is barely enough for a foot path and certainly not for any load bearing/carrying slab.

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

gamitan mo rin ng makinis na pangkayod sa finishing preferably c-purlins or c-channel para hindi mo na sabuyan ng semento.

May question din ako mga gurus is how to make the joints not crack? Over time yung mga ginagawa ko kasi nagbibitak then lumalaki ang awang. Sinibukan ko na i-slant yung mga sugpungan pero nag-crack pa rin. At ano magandang itapal sa mga nabakbak na semento, tried patching with cement pero sandali lang bakbak pa rin.

Thanks
Jay

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

The purpose of the movement joints is to avoid cracking. That is why the panels should be square. (I suppose ideally the panels should be round!!)The compressible material is to enable the conc. to go somewhere.
I made a mistahe in #18 when I wrote "Use the[COLOR="Red"] thicker conc. in the areas were there will be only light traffic", that should have read thinner.

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

The compressable material could be raked out to a depth of say 1" and the space filled with some sort of mastic.

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

Hi

I assume the trucks are loaded, hence use ready mix concrete, cheaper, faster and more better the manual mixing.

Otherwise, if the trucks are not loaded, use asphalt.

Anyway both of then requires a compacted foundation, the soil below.

BTW, 10-16W are not medium-sized trucks. we used to have a trucking business, trucks that are 45 tonne when loaded.

Cheers.

Hello experts,

I'd like to know the estimates (# of bags of cement, sand + labor) in building a concrete pavement of a 1000 sq m lot.

Pavement should withstand medium-sized trucks (10 - 16 wheelers).

A strong foundation is essential for this sort of job, material compacted to 96% Modasho.
The thickness should be min. 8", the strength of concrete not less than 25mpa. the water content of the conc. should be as low as possible, bearing in mind that it has to be worked. You may want to rein-force the conc. with a mesh.
Are you planning to do this concrete work yourself? better to get a readymix conc. that way the strength is consistent and guaranteed.
You will need movement joints ever 25 sq.m. (so 5.0m x 5.0m would be good. With a compressible material between the joints.
The new conc. should be kept wet for at least a week, you can do this by covering the new work with plastic sheeting.
It sounds as though you are planning to do/supervise this work yourself.
Quantities are 1.0m.3 of sand, 0'8m.3 of stone per 1 m.3 of conc. The cement content, better get a structural eng. to advise you. These are good guide lines but seek professional advise.
Pls show this to a structural eng. and get his opinion on what I have written. 1000 sq. m. is not a small job.
good luck

Re: Estimate for concrete pavement

what you are trying to make is a solar dryer... you can do it in 4 inch thk but dont let heavy trucks roll over it... just transport the palay from the truck to the dryer... and the design is coorugated.. one flute about 2 meters.
