i bought 300 brd ft of White Ash from formaply last december. here's the thing, when you buy wood you need to have your workers with you kasi kayo ang pipili ng kahoy na gagamitin nyo. thats so para walang sisihan na yung wood is baluktot or something like that. then the best time to buy is when kakarating lang or madami pa ang stock nila, cause when i went back a month ago and checked the white ash na natitira, its all damaged goods na, napag pilian na

Is their veneer real wood throughout or do they have some laminate backing?

the white ash came out good. pero remember i got a good pick kasi kakadating palang ng stock nila. i cant say the same with the next ones who picked kasi when i went back panget na yung mga natitira.

anyways, yung stock yata nila depends on kung ano yung dumating na batch, like wala ako nakita maple when i was there. baka now meron na.i paid 250 yata pr bdft for the white ash.

Formaply mentioned in some previous threads like this one with pics: imported hardwood and Bamboo panels

(Tip: Google 'pinoyhandyman Formaply')

The last sentence of the last post (#19) of that thread seems to have happened. All the wood has been transferred from their Mindanao Ave. to their Sct. Santiago location, joining the engineered bamboo there.

Good point of ernie_serrano re timing and bringing helper/s IF the items require selection/sorting through and the pieces are too numerous or unwieldy for one person. Just don't go too early though. 🙂 Once, by coincidence and time constraint, I dropped by the day after shipment unloading and they hadn't had a chance to arrange yet. The 16' lengths of pine I wanted were buried deep under other lengths and I couldn't wait. Had to come back about a month later ... which happened to be last Friday.

I noticed they still had some ash and maple ... less than last month but can't compare quality since I didn't look too closely then. Looked good to me then, still looked good now, actually damn good ... but then I think my standards have been conditioned down by what I've seen elsewhere.
