Are Hardiflex really advisable for ceiling use? Many say that they fall off in time due to loose nail holes which enlarge when hardinail are overdriven. Please advise.
Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
for me mas ok hadiflex kc termite free na siya, for ceiling use HARDIFLEX LITE mas manipis ito 3.5mm, sa fall off issue I think sa pag install na yan baka kulang sa pako 🙂 or baka hindi hardiflex nail ang ginamit, malaki kasi ulo pag hardinail hindi basta basta natanggal, on my experience ang cons lang ng hardflex both for ceiling or wall is pag may ikakabit kang mga frames or other things that used thumb tacks/cup hook or screws, and hirap ilagay n madalas nabubutas bigla yun hardiflex pag diniinan mo yun screw, hindi gaya ng plywood kakapit yun screw/cup hook kahit hindi natapat sa wood frame yun screw/cup hook
Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
Siyempre pa, in time, iyong hardiflex di nabulok pero yung plywood bumigay.
Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
imho meron ka na bang castillaje/ ceiling frame
kung wala pa mag aluminum frame ka nalang then use gypsum board
Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings

Gildred,
Ano ang spandrel panel?
Thanks

Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
tatoski, AFAIK a spandrel panel is sort of a...fill between the spaces of two windows: one at the bottom and one at the top. I think this is used for multi-storey places. If I'm not mistaken, this is sort of a decorative panel that is placed in between the upper sill of the lower window and the bottom sill of the upper window.
I could be mistaken though.
Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
basta interior mas bagay talaga hardiflex, mga customers namin pagbumibili for interior hardiflex lagi recommend namin pati pang walls.

Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
For interior ceilings, I usually specify Gypsum board on metal furrings for acoustic and insulation purposes notwithstanding the effciency of installing it. However, it is slightly costlier than ordinary HardyLite or Plywood per sq.m. For exterior ceiling, I suggest using Ficem boards like Jardine Products. Hardy Lite is a good alternative to ordinary plywood. Less paint, less putty used and joints are easily patched up in a jiffy.

Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
Di ba nagmumukhang papel ang Hardiflex kapag nabasa? Parang nagpi-peel off sya.
Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
Only if it has no proper paint primer and soaked in water more than 48 hours.

Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
So kapag ginamit as ceiling ang Hardiflex and then nagkaroon ng tulo ang bubong, palit na rin ang ceiling?

Not necessarily. It takes more than that para masira yung ceiling mo. If it is just tulo(water drip)..no problem at all...pwera nalang kung basang basa at babad na babad sa tubig(a big gaping whole in the roof while raining hard). A good paint can also provide good protection for any material.

Re: Hardiflex vs Marine plywood for ceilings
