Re: light gauge steel studs, tracks etc.

Hi Ernie,

I visited your multiply account and was I surprised (more like excited)! Can you actually build a whole house using just JEA steel frames bolted on concrete without using hollow blocks or pre-fab modular elements (like Vazbuilt's) and wrapping them with cement boards? How would they stand up to today's destructive typhoons, the likes of Ondoy, Basyang, etc?

ondoy would be different kasi thats flood waters, whats the typhoon after ondoy? its has wind speeds of 100+ km per hour.

the technology has been there for a long time na,US uses timber constructuction since i dont know when and has slowly shifted to using steel frame as it is more constant in measurements plus the prices dont fluctuate as much as wood.

anyways, syempre i live in one just so i know how it feels and so far so good. we actually call it a happy home. i've built 2 of this na and the biggest so far is the one standing along ADB Ave, its the Show Room for the ADB Condo Towers right beside prestige parking lot.

then i added some of the pics from last nights Party.

Interesting! I wanted to say more kaya lang nakakahiya because this thread is not about building houses through steel frames. I think discussions on steel frame construction deserve an entire thread altogether.

Anyway, the reason I am asking is because I still have a space in my lot that I am thinking of expanding later. I just do not have the money to progress that plan yet.

Cheers and God bless you in your projects.
