Hi guys,

I would be moving to my new house next month. Renovations start next week. Tiling around second week of December.

I like granite tiles but a bit expensive and the designs are limited.

Porcelain tiles and the imported ones like from Spain are pricey as well.

Others suggest vinyl "wood" planks and HDF-laminated planks. Kaya lang I would rather have a longer lasting surface. There are ceramic tiles now that look like wood planks.

I would prefer matte surface for the interior of the house as glossy surfaces are too slippery for the elderly and the kids.

For the balconies, carport and porch, I would prefer rustic finish.

For the local brands, I find that Mariwasa and Lepanto tiles seem to have a lot of designs to choose from. TenZen or Manila Tiles has similar designs, but the feel seem less expensive, thus, the price is cheaper.

Have you guys used Mariwasa or Lepanto or TenZen-Manila tiles?

Any feedback?

TIA. 🙂

Re: Mariwasa, Lepanto, or TenZen-Manila tiles?

I used Mariwasa tiles for all the bathrooms and decks of my house. But I'm a minimalist. All white, somewhat-stone-looking ceramic tiles. They're cheap and looks good with some accent tiles (also Mariwasa). My house is more than 7 years old and tiles still look good.

I never used the wood-looking tiles, though. For the indoor parts of my home, I used real wood. Never really developed a taste for wood-looking concrete.

When buying tiles, get lots of extra and stock them. I had to replace some after a year dahil kumapak (hollowed out grouting underneath) and had a tough time getting the exact same color.
