Re: MDF or Plywood for RT

I'ved seen Sir Chisel's RT, and it's big, I doubt if I can build something like it. I'll try to make a smaller one, though I already ask for the rt plan. I'll try to build a more mobile rt. I might fore go the drawers for now. Have no final plan yet doc.

What does the laminate cutter looks like Doc?

Beedigo, if you have space and time, I suggest you build a biggest your space allows (not as big naman as a whole plywood ha :D) something in the 22 x 32" range would be fine. I say this because once you have an RT, you will not be able to contain your joy :D. and having a big one will prevent you from wanting another. No need to build cabinets too until you need them, in which case it makes sense to have that provision this early...
hope this helps... or it can get you confused 😮
cheers

Re: MDF or Plywood for RT

A little OT, but where can one buy MDF? I live in Antipolo so would appreciate recommendations near me. Would Wilcon carry this?

What's the thinnest MDF one can buy?

Re: MDF or Plywood for RT

@ Sir timber,
I might take your advice to build a big RT w/ possible cabinet compartments. Do I have to use MDF for every part of the RT, not only the top?

Re: MDF or Plywood for RT

If I may, the only thing you want for an MDF is it's flatness. So the legs and the like would be better of with ply or hardware lumber for strength and cost. You may refer to the RT project threads of the other members for reference.

Re: MDF or Plywood for RT

yes we want the mdf for the top only..should you have extras, make them your fence..for the drawers, ply is ok..you can build the drawers naman later..whats impt is you have a functional rt for now.

will post the laminate cutter pic tomorrow..my head is aching

@ Jarod
Thanks sir, I'll try to search the thread.

@Violane
Thanks Doc, I'll just wait until you post it, just take a rest, that symptom might be stress related.
