Has anybody tried the new cement specifically made for palitada or plastering? Do they really save money as claimed?

Bossing, AFAIK hinde. Portland cement is different from blended Portland cement, commonly known as pozzolan cement. If I'm not mistaken, pozzola or blended Portland is.."softer" than pure Portland cement. I think pozzolan is mostly used for finishing or palitada whilepure Portland eh for slabs and post. Since pozzolan is softer, it offers higher flexibility and flexibility compared to Portland kasi ang pure Portland eh ambiles tumigas.

Mayron din po atang tinatawag na expansive cement.

🙂

A fe months ago, Cemex was advertising what it called Palitada King, which was touted as covering more sq meters than ordinary portland cement. Never got around to trying this.

Re: Palitada cement

AFAIK HOLCIM Philippines was the first company here in our country to introduce special cement for plastering , 2-3 years ago, they called it HOLCIM WALLRIGHT , SRP price is cheaper at 10/bag compare to ord. portland cement BUT..... many consumer did not notice that weight per bag is only 34kgs unlike ordinary portland cement at 40kgs/bag, for other info visit

Re: Palitada cement

This cement mix is slower drying than pozzolan. that in turn makes it less suseptible to cravking as it dries.

You can get savings from it if used properly. Workers nowadays doesn't know how to apply it properly. Secondly, the wall to be plastered on should be evenly laid out(squalado at nasa hulog), so that you can apply it evenly, thus reduce the cost of it.

Re: Palitada cement

I usually specify pozzolan cement ONLY in septic tanks, man hole covers and to concreting works that are exposed to water.

Palitada King vs. WallRight

One of these brands actually claim wider plaster coverage at P5 per bag less vs. the 40 kg regular cement. Has anyone actually tried one of them? If yes, did you really use it because it does cover more wall area, or mainly because of the lower cash out?

Re: Palitada cement

i am using right now the green addmix and increased the sand to cement ratio from 2:1 to 3:1.

the comment from my masons is that it is more slurry and better workability. it didnt prevent cracks though as i hoped but it could be attributable to the very fine sand i bought.

i am just using the ordinary apo portland cement.

Re: Palitada cement

Tried it a few years ago, didn't notice much difference as far as my workers are concerned. Thing is nalilito yung bodegero since there is one for palitada, one for foundation and one for general purpose use cement. Stopped using it ever since.

Re: Palitada cement

If you were using pozzolan for plastering outside CHB wall, what would be the best sand:cement mix ratio? What is the coverage?
