Crate wood can be a good source of cheap wood for projects. I live in Cainta and I know of three sources:

1. along the Taytay highway about 1k from where it intersects Ortigas Extension.
2. somewhere behind the Panasonic plant along Ortigas Extn.
3. Polochina City between TayTay market and Binongonan.

My apologies if my directions are not so precise. If anyone needs more information just tell me.

What of other source in and around the NCR?

Re: Palochina Sources

the company where i'm working donates this kind of wood to schools and non-profit organization. these woods are good because they are treated.

Re: Palochina Sources

There is a palochina wood store along Marcos Highway going to Sta. Lucia from Masinag. I will go there, once the rains stop, and ask around for prices.

Are these woods really treated? I've read this a couple of times, but have not really bothered to check. May be a good project to see if the wood will be affected by termites, etc.

Re: Palochina Sources

There's another one just after the Rosario junction on the right side coming from C-5 along Ortigas Extension.

I've not really stopped and seen their selection but it does not seem so extensive because the pieces seem only to come from pallets. They should be good for something though.

Palochina City is beside benjie's lodging house, and just across the street from richmond subd gate....

i haven't actually been there to inquire, but when we passed by the store looks like it has an extensive collection of palochina....

will check this out again if we pass by this coming weekend....

btw, how much is palochina? i really have no idea....

Re: Palochina Sources

there's one along marcos hiway, before providence cemetery. Left side if your going to paenaan. They say their main branch is in Padilla. They sell palochina & good lumber. Though yung good lumber is 2X2x4 lang but its clean na. They sell it for php25 a kilo. Yung palochina may 2X8, 4X4 iba-iba lang length minsan may mahaba din.

I bought some papagawa kong bench. 🙂

Re: Palochina Sources

Palochina City also sells for the per kilo price. You may however be disappointed with the selection because it is no longer what it used to be.

The one near SM Taytay has a better selection but they price per piece and I believe their effective per kilo price is higher. I still buy here though because it is closer.

Re: Palochina Sources

It is after Tikling but before SM Taytay on the left side of the road.

There is also a 2 or 3 small stores along the floodway 1 or 2 km from the Angono end of it. The stores are small but from the looks of it have good stock. I've not stopped and asked about their prices though.

There is another one behind the Panasonic Plant. It is not exactly behind but just follow the road. I only asked once and their prices seemed good however you'll have to remove the nails yourself.
