Hope to geta little help here. I am at the moment living in Pasay and looking for a source of second hand timber. Somebody has told me that it is possible to buy such timber at 20P/kg.
Anybody any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: second hand timber

From EDSA, enter FR Harrison St. Look to your left, you will see a junk shop- it looks small from the outside, but they have a lot of used timber inside. They are near a gas station, I don't remember which one, but not the "big three".

Re: second hand timber

Quite far from you but I learned from this forum a good source of 2nd hand lumber in Taytay. Place is owned by a man named Policarpio. Search this forum. If you have the time and patience (it's bait difficult to find), worth visiting.

Re: second hand timber

@frank,

i was the one who told you about the second hand timber..but i was talking about pine wood used as pallets...5 years ago i bought some of these somewhere in east service road paranaque and during that time it was 20 pesos per kilo...i believe the price hasnt changed much..only the cost of gas. hehe

but if are going to look for some native second hand timber used from old house or warehouse then Taytay is a favorite place some of the members here frequent.

it is nice to get these old timbers for some not so serious projects (don't comment here :eek:)...what i only fear is the nails embedded in it..id hate to see some nicks in my power planer and or thicknesser's blade.

but i wont get a nail finder/metal detector for this purpose alone.

Re: second hand timber

Guys try salvage yards like Vinsans and Statewide Salvage. They have lots of old windows removed from the old houses of Perth. Just don't get overwelmed by the selection.
