I am installing a batch solar water heater based on designs available on line. As the system will consist of two 44 gallon tanks plumbed in series (the hot water from the first tank syphons to the second under thermostatic pressure and boosts the water temperature). According to the online literature water temperatures in excess of 120 deg F can be expected. As this is sufficient to cause scolding (especially young children) I wish to install a TMV (themostatic mixing valve). These are available on the internet outside the PI, are they available inside the PI?
Contact details appreciated, thanks.
Re: Solar Hot Water needs Mixer Valve
Would it be possible to just install an electric thermostat in the second tank, which will switch on and off an electric valve on the line from the hot water tank?
The thermostat and electric valves are readily available in the country.
Re: Solar Hot Water needs Mixer Valve
Personnally, I'd be thrilled to have SCALDING hot water from a solar water heater! I would just install it to run through an isolated hot water line and get mixing faucets for control
