Wilcon Libis Bro, the one near ortigas. But, remembering now, indeed it was Zar that i saw, Konig has stains and polyeurethane only. My apologies for the mix-up.

Ah, the Zar Tung Oil Finish that has no tung oil at all. 🙂
Speaking of "Konig", does that brand or the manufacturer behind it have a website? It seems to be a mystery.
Re: tung oil
Quad is right Opzuk. Zar tung oil is "fake" tung oil... but a decent wipe on finish nonetheless.

I have recently tried Konig stain and polyeurethane, so far so good. With regards to the Konig website, i am clueless as well.

Re: tung oil
Actually Raw Tung Oil (RTO) are readily available here in our country. Its being used by printing ink manufacturers(oil based inks for offset/letterpress printing inks) as vehicles/binders. Its a substitute for the more expensive Linseed oil.
Updating this thread ... anyone familiar with the local printing/ink industry or have any leads on local source of 100% pure tung oil?
In the meantime, my last bottle ran out last year ...
so had to get non-locally again last year. Tried the online source mentioned in the first post of this thread (left), and later from Woodcraft again (right). If buying from Woodcraft online (as opposed to walk-in, which would be taxable), best to wait for either sale of tung oil or free shipping:
Re: tung oil
Don't know if anyone noticed the separation in the Woodcraft tung oil. First time to encounter this; I did not see this on previous bottles. This should make it clearer ...
According to Woodcraft, the bottom are the 'fats' (fatty acids?) from the tung nut. I was advised to heat the container in something like a double boiler or pot of water. Presumably to limit the temperature to 100 deg C, well below the temperatures used to produce 'polymerized tung oil'.
I did so on a small sample and it seemed to work. In the below, the gallon bottle and left two sample bottles show the effect of shaking -- everything becomes uniformly cloudy. In the left two sample bottles, the 'fats' have begun to separate out again (after about half a day). In a few days, it will be back to a very obvious 50-50 or so separation. The rightmost sample bottle is the result of heating in water. The 'fats' seem to have dissolved back in and the color is clear golden yellow as expected.
Woodcraft does have a disclaimer on their website that their tung oil is 'unprocessed' and there is 'no attempt to remove fatty acids or change other qualities'. This raises more questions than it answers and I did not get any insight from Woodcraft as to implications for finish performance (upper vs. lower vs. shaken cloudy vs. heated dissolved back in).
In future, I would probably just go with Real Milk Paint. They are actually cheaper including shipping, and explicitly state the grade of their tung oil ('Grade 1 yellow'). Woodcraft is cheaper only momentarily (if untaxed and when on rare sale or free shipping).

How did you ship it? I recall our favorite Forex does not ship flammable substances.
Re: tung oil
Pure tung oil is not flammable or even combustible, and not classified as hazardous. See post #4 earlier in this thread.
The real question is ... how do you ship citrus solvent (d-Limonene), which is combustible. Normally, tung oil is recommended to be diluted 50/50 with mineral spirits/thinner for at least the first few coats, which makes it toxic while wet (i.e., until the thinner has evaporated). Using citrus solvent instead of thinner would make it non-toxic not to mention better smelling throughout the process.
Better still ... are oranges grown locally? Is anyone pressing them (the rind) locally to extract all the wonderful chemical things in the orange oil?

eblue sells tung oil.
Who or what or where is eblue?
Re: tung oil
PM-ed crazyboi and he emailed me the catalog. There were contact info there. Texted e-blue. They're still setting up their shop in Muntinlupa. But they have Tung Oil in stock!
Still finding out how to order and ship.
Will let you all know how it turns out.
They also carry other Woodriver, Jet, and Pinnacle products. Finally! A woodworking store in the Philippines.

Update on eblue's Tung Oil:
1 Quart = P955
1 Pint = P614
Their shop is in Muntinlupa which is the other side of the world for me. They deliver but minimum order is P5000 otherwise they charge P250 delivery fee.
I recommend we do a group buy of, at least, 6 quarts.
