I bought a 25 KG Mondo skim coat liquid.. This liquid is 100% acrylic. Ive used it a lot before to mix with cement for rendering walls.. This cement additive leaves zero cracks and is impressive.. 25 Kilo tub is 1,350 PHP.
So I pour 1/4th of this acrylic liquid into another 25 kilo tub and add double the amount of portland cement..To this I mixed in half a cup of Sika cement waterproofer (same as Sahara cement additive) and a tablespoon of cement plasticiser.. Add 1 liter of water and mix for 3 minutes with a drill and spiral mixing arm..
I wet a portion of the Concrete deck and applied a weak mix of PVA adhesive and allowed to dry.. I painted a 2 MM coat of my DIY mix and left in in hot sun to see what would happen for 5 days.
Not even a single hairline crack thus far.. I will wait for a month or two to see if it keeps performing..If it does (and I think it will) I will treat the whole deck and save lots of money!!
