Good day, mga Sir!

I am currently planning to build a new dining table with extension leaf.
And looking for a reliable source of white oak.

Does anyone here been using white oak? What is the current price per bft?

:thankyou: in advance.

Re: Where to get White Oak?

mahirap ata hanapin white oak dito sa pinas...
i have found an oak variety sa wilcon balintawak before, maybe five years ago...
they phase it out, wala kasi bumibili...

gust mo i-try or see muna the "african iroko " ?

you can ask the man who is an expert in this matter...willyfernando.

i am using this wood for my church door projects, yung frame at jambs tapos na with sealer...sa sealer pa lang happy na sa results...what if applied with top coats.
at yung dimesioning ng wood... you have to see na lang ...

meron din sila walnut, not sure kung may oak sila...
hope this helps.

Re: Where to get White Oak?

mahirap nga hanapin yung white oak. i tried to call Formaply but they told me na wala silang lumber na available except for radiata pine.

i've seen african iroko before pero mas prefer ko yung oak (color preference since di sila nagkakalayo sa hardness nung iroko/kambala.

i've seen white oak sa worldbex before but it was years ago at hindi pa ako interesado nuon.

wow walnut! is it the african one aka tiger's eye walnut?

i'll try to pm Sir Willy.

Thank you, Sir.

Goodluck to your churchdoor projects.

What i have is White Oak US Common 1 grade lumber w/c is more expensive and a different variety of lumber from the Red Oak that Formaply and other importers brought here. It is used mostly for furniture and veneering application that's why it's pricey compared to Red Oak. I have American Black Walnut, the real McCoy from Pennsylvania. Iroko is a tropical hardwood nicknamed African Teak and is also called Kambala in Congo, Belgium and in the Democratic Republic of Congo. To be honest we don't sell these commercially but would be glad to help anyone who likes to try them. I do have to reiterate their being Pricey.:ill::)
