Re: Deluxe Router Table build

@Jay,

i tried before the sanding sealer (c/o boysen) to seal mdfs..well i hate it now because of the vapors...plus the fact that it swells (at a minimum) the mdf.

i discover Ace Stain Halt three years ago when we were planning to repaint the ceiling of the living room of our ancestral home....during that time, i only of knew of the 'flat wall" enamel to act as primer but this has a nasty smell that would linger for days plus the fact that it doesnt dry quickly and worse, acrylics would not bind onto it...so i went to hunt to find a primer that can be painted over with acrylic paints.

this (Stain Halt) white primer paint does the perfect job of covering rust stains from previously painted wood. You can also use this on metal or concrete! though it dont come cheap at 1200pesos per gallon.

plus it is water based and relatively odorless. anu pa hahanapin mo?

here it is!

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

also Jay, it isn't a stain. more like a sanding sealer with properties that doesn't allow stain in, hence the name "Stain Halt"... you can use it as a primer or sealer or both...

click my signature and it will take you there........

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

This is how I approach the fence, make a rabbet on the front fence.

Cut a 4” diameter hole for the opening.

Join the base and front fence and to add stability glue some braces.

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

Now to my unfinished router table round over the top fence, this is the router table first cut. .......:D

Preparing for the T slot for feather board and some accessories , start by a 5/16 straight bit and positioning it for 3/8 depth.

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

Now for the slot cutter, bit changing is an ease, now I don’t have to bend my old knees just to change bit. 🙂

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

Have to ground up the heads of the bolts to fit to the slot.

Same approach to the sliding fence.

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

And will be tighten by these knobs.

Now to attach the upper fence use spring clamps to position it.

And screw to the back no glue.

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

For the adjustable fence since I don’t have an aluminum T track I have to make groove on the table top w/c I really don’t like but don’t have a choice same bit used here straight and t slot cutter.

Finnish it at the opposing side.

5/16 and ½ groove for the fabricated T bolts.

Re: Deluxe Router Table build

Test Fit hope all the measurements are correct. Slide effortlessly.

Test sliding fence, glides with grease and locking it up is just a twist on the knob.

Very carefully align the opening with the troth plate so be sure to accurately position your router plate at the exact center of the table to get this alignment.
