Re: DIY - Car Body Repairs

Though I will not be repairing dents on my jeep,...

Is this jeep a cherokee, or stainless? If its a cherokee, i wouldnt be messing with it either. The only reason i dare is because i only have a simple car.

If its a stainless jeep, i dont know if dents on a stainless panels can still be fixed.

Sometimes it's not about doing the physical itself. These skills need years to acquire. In my case knowing the proper and good way a task can be done is DIY by itself. The actual implementation maybe done by somebody who does the job for a living. What I'm after is more advanced, easier and cheaper (if possible) way of doing things through better research then getting these implemented as I see fit. However doing it personally sometimes has a different level of fulfillment even if the job falls short a bit. 🙂

And sometimes letting someone do it for you will only make you miserable cus then you will realize that you can do it better than him.

LOL yes you're right. Here more often than not if you want a job well done you have to do it yourself.

How's the color blending going on Ben? I reckon you're doing just a section or are you doing a full wash over?

@ sir benQ,

THANKS sir benQ, you were able to read my posting regarding my intention of repainting the hood of my jeep though with great apprehensions, I really am following your postings with regards to repainting the rear of your SUV and would like to commend you for your sureness
and " lakas ng loob " to by yourself do the job.

By the way the jeep that I was referring to work on is my four sitter Pajero, see that is why I am having second thoughts, I might mess it up:eek: sayang baka mababaoy lang trabaho since
it will be my first attempt to embark in this kind of task. I had already some encouragement from sir clayfigur, [ I know he's good in this job ] and also from sir JayL, I think, but still am not sure if to push through or not.

I was even thinking of practising first on my old VW na nakatambak na lang sa garage just to see and familiarize myself in the process of repainting, ok lang kung mababoy, e practice, practice pa lang naman. Was even planning already of buying some GI pipes and will make first a tent so that I will do the repairs outside of the garage para hindi madumi.

Anyway I will just follow your advice not to mess with the hood and probably just let the pros do the job. Yes I think you are right there I might just mess it up. Huh practice na lang muna sa old VW and build first the neccessary confidence.
