I'm sure those good at eyeballing use some techniques that's why they are good at it.

Mind sharing your secrets.

Straightness of a material , flatness , angles, and what not . Guesstimates that are valid.

nothing fancy for me, when it looks right it often is...

Sometimes eyeballing need helper tools. Do you have a pic Timb when you were flattening the Mahogany stock for the conference table. You had used two wooden bars to help eyeball it. Hehehehehe

When sawing with a handsaw, to get it close to perpendicular, use the reflection of the wood on the saw blade to see if you are tilting it too much on either side.

can't find a picture at this time. Yes its called winding sticks. simple and effective technique... 😉

Eyeballing, ah, what an experience. You need to make sure flatness is avoided. Angles and shapes are of necessity and straightness is a model's jig. Oh wait, are we talking about wood?! He-he-he!:confused:;):rolleyes::p:
