Mini Rotary Tool Table

My brother have been asking me to build him one of these mini table for his rotary tool that he uses to clean up acrylic plastic edges.. but cant seem to find some time to do it.

This afternoon, I've got nothing better to do so I decided to make that mini table...

Cut the top, side and back parts and glued up the rotary tool clamp...

Measured and scribbed the diameter of the tool unto the clamp and cut it in half on the ts...

Cutting the recess on the scrollsaw...

Clamped the holder together and drilled a countersink of 3/4 to allow enough protrusion of the bolt for the nut to attach...

Rounding off the sides support and cutting with a jigsaw...

Glue up...

The base with holder glued up and fastened with 30mm brads...

Top glued, nailed and clamped over night...

Perfectly Centered...

saw this project a long time ago in one of the issues of Wood magazine and i believe it was a tip sent by a reader and was made of solid pine wood...anyhow i couldnt find any work for the Dremel or the time to make it.

it would be better to have the top with laminates for easy cleaning of sanding dusts.

but hey, you did it man!

Tried it out before I sent it to my brother this morning... and its pretty handy when using it to round of and smooth acrylic plastic corners. Perfect for sanding small cut-out plastic letters.

As for me, I'm not going to make one, I prefer a 3-4 in. sanding drum or belt/disc sander 🙂
