Re: My Fourth Router Table Build...

the newly built fence with the dust collection port.

i am still not happy with the 32mm dia port..need a larger opening to get most of the dust but cant find an adapter for my shopvac hose

Re: My Fourth Router Table Build...

i was using either the f clamps or the quick grips before to hold the fence but found something to better replace them and that is these aluminum fence clamps..yes timb..your rockler universal fence clamps are also ideal to hold the rt fence..quick and steady unlcess you have a better clamping system for your new rt! (btw..whats the reason building a floor standing one?)

Does the fence slide on its own tracks?

Re: My Fourth Router Table Build...

ok that is all folks.

here are the other routers i use in the shop..the 3600 makita is covered with thick cobwebs..its not soft start but powerful enough though to handle 1/2"shanked bits but with a fixed speed...might as well sell it.

goodnight..i regret not being able to participate in your planing/thicknessing workshop.hoping it goes out well.

😉

Re: My Fourth Router Table Build...

hey jay!

like i said, this is just another prototype.

id still like to build a table top using the aluminium plated laminates but they cost around 2grand (4x8) and also to replace those flimsy yellow plastic featherboards with either the blue rocklers or the orange benchdogs.

i am still busy at work and my woodshop is missing me a lot though i still find time to catch up by opening almost daily this site.

thanks to timb and the rest of the masters here for making this hobby enjoyable and fulfilling.

Re: My Fourth Router Table Build...

(btw..whats the reason building a floor standing one?)

the portable rt has a unsightly damaged but flat top pa naman, and the mobile stand fits the 2012NB thicknesser well. I planned to make a stand for the thicknesser, but since the fit was perfect, I decided I'll use it and make a dedicated rt instead, also the bit holder I have lacks the space already(seems you need more bit space as well), this new rt provided the space to make me broke again :p., the router bits you do not use, you can lend them to me so it can be used... hahahaha, those big bits(CMT ba yan o Freud?) are gorgeous....
I have the plans for what I am building and I can share it with you if you like...
