My new router plate pinnacle and ready to install…..

And here is may table

most rt made are same procedure. Make a hole first and then rabbet the edges for the router plate here is my other way and very easy to do.. first measured the exact position of the plate depend on your work space on table .. wow it blue

I hope you can see the mark line

Re: My RT plate Pinnacle

after measured place the router plate check the actual size and line. Put a masking tape all marking line except for the curve line . the purpose of tape is to prevent chip out on laminated table. and then used fence for strait mortise not shown on this forgot to take a picture .

and then set up your plunge router on exact thickness of the plate I use 5/8 router bit . and then start routing the table and leave the curve line at 4 corners .

Re: My RT plate Pinnacle

mortise one by one after four side are completed and then place the plate and check

and now for cutting my ryobi cordless circular saw 5 inc thin kerfs cuts at 4 side mitre style …

before make a hole lets proceed on curves lines . the advantage of this it will not tilt your plunge router because there’s support at the center. since I don’t have a 1 3/8 router bit for the curve and I will used my 5/8 router bit what I did for the edges . This time without fence or guide just free movement for the curve depend on your presence and pulses hehehe

Re: My RT plate Pinnacle

Ryobi,

is there a reason behind why you decided to plunge cut the sides first before you routed the corners?

It is much easier to handle my plunge router when there is a canal in x axis and y axis when routed the corner mas mahirap pag nauna ung corner

Sorry sir Ryobi, what I meant was why you decided to plunge cut the sides (using a circular saw) first before you routed the corners?

Re: My RT plate Pinnacle

Sorry sir Ryobi, what I meant was why you decided to plunge cut the sides (using a circular saw) first before you routed the corners?

Okey its only a pre-cut since circular saw can not complete cutting when it`s already on limit because of the radius of CS and the thickness of plywood is 1 Β½ thick combine with 2 pcs of ΒΎ plywood. so I decide to complete the task first of routing the corner before I make a hole using my jig saw to cut the un-cut done on my CS . and the radius of router plate is more than 1 inc. since I don’t have a router bit 1 3/8 to rabbet the corner which sir timb is recommend when he worked on his 4rt RT . so same router bit 5/8 that I used in the plunge and make me easier to curve the corner because there is a support at the center it is difficult to curve when there is already a hole and using a 5/8 router bit to rabbet the corner medyo mabigat din ung router if you always carrying . and it is much easier na pwede mo din iwan ung router on the top of the table because there is no hole yet..pag nangalay ka sa pag curve pwede mo syang iwan and take a relax I don’t want to make a mistake when routing the corner or else it will damage the laminated table. πŸ™‚

Re: My RT plate Pinnacle

Ryobi just notice isn’t it’s the other way around, what I mean is you should position your router plate horizontal to take advantage of the TS fence and its built in measuring guide or your planning another approach. IMO ..;)

Re: My RT plate Pinnacle

@ryobi: Got it, I was thinking naman on routing all the needed sides and corners, tapos sa pinakahuli yung sawing. Baka lang kasi may mali sa iniisip ko kaya nagtanong din ako πŸ˜€

@chisel: Yup, sana nga rin ganun pero It would work pa rin naman.

I wonder why parating rectangular ang mga router insert plates?

Pwede naman bilog like the Rockler version para less material and less flex or just a square pare mas madali gawin kesa sa circle?

I have a plan for this and I want my table to be flexible in any angle so I decide at vertical position for a long feeding and to lessen the support stand. RT fence is differ to TS fence but I can use the TS fence for making a dado using RT or any. later I will work with both fence horizontal and vertical fence and there railings to and it must be on precise in alignment but it will take a while because I have a job so need my time to manage

@ jarod no problem bro for the question......

cheers:)

Re: My RT plate Pinnacle

hindi ba magka cup yung single 3/4" plywood for heavy routers? unless good support is placed underneath.

kung circular kasi ang plate may tendency umikot or gumalaw when the router bit hits the material being routed. kaya when you find a round plate, may lock syang incorporated. making it square is the same na rin as rectangular I think, halos wala ng difference yun in making the recess.
