the corners on my rt was made by a rabbeting bit...

all I had to do first is cut the hole 3/4" less than the actual plate. in my process, this is the critical part.

add the guides and clean-up using a pattern bit.

then rabbeting bit will be following the corners and create the profile.

ingat nga lang whatever process you take, baka mag chip or over cut... hahahaha
but there really isn't a right or wrong as long as you get there and it makes you happy...

i bought my rt plate at online item c/o sir timber here at PHM ...it was amazon product if you need something like my RT plate and other tools that was not available locally just ask Sir timber he will assist you and he will gave you reasonable price hehehe . I know there will be another online part 4 ..watch out bro nakaka adict :p
