Re: My Shopmade Tools

My ts was built from excess materials so it costs me almost nothing.
1 pc. 1/2 marine ply is enough to make one as big as this one. Plus, some extruded aluminum, hardwood edging/rail, switches and wires. I would say 2k would be enough.

So far my plan for Ver. 4 Table Saw with a table size of 27x30 in. plus 27 x 24 fold down table extension and cabinet type base with built in dust collection runs up to 4k.

As for a blade guard, got some ideas with adjustabilty and dust collection port...

How much for the Ryobi cs w/ riving knife?

Re: My Shopmade Tools

3k for the ECS12519. Got it from a local surplus store that sells pre-owned power tools from Australia. Im lucky enough to know the owner, so i get first dibs on new stocks before it gets displayed...;)

Re: My Shopmade Tools

I've tired of scraping my combination square on my router bit and ts blade whenever i'm setting my blade height. Found this in wood magazine website.

http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-plans/tablesaw/quick-and-easy-height-gauge/

Made mine from scrap wood and a piece of clear acrylic plastic sheet. Took me like 20 mins. to make, so this can be a quickie project...

Glued a smaller strip of plastic to the sliding plastic part. Perfect fit on the 1/4 grove..

No more scraping...

Re: My Shopmade Tools

Yup, its also undersized, but a little bit thicker than ordinary ply. One side is smooth and usually whiter than most ply while the back ply is a little rough, as evident in the pictures. The 3/4 ply is different in that it has both sides smooth...

@ ricky
most of my shopmade tools are made out of necessity or as a favor. I've been lurking in here for a while before I started posting, so I'm pretty sure a lot of guys in here can do the same or even better than what I made 😀
