now its time to make a notch or groove for the inner jaw of the face vise.this will serve as the rear half jaw of the face vise.make a jig to create the notch.rout...and the result.

gluing the end cap in place,by applying glue at the front few inches of the end cap

the inner jaw imbedded into the front rail and doing another planing again to flatten the top.

with a round over bit.rounded all the edges.except the area that meets the front jaw.

another coat,this time mix it with satin poly and paint thinner(mineral spirits),with mixing ratio of 1/2 parts of BLO to 1 parts poly and paint thinner.
