ganito lang naman talaga ako... dreamer! sarap talaga mangarap! (sabay dasal na sana magkatoo).

meron pa nga akong nakita na veritas na dovetail square ang tawag nila.
para sa mga wala pang dovetail jig. ayos din yun para mahasa sa handmade na dovetails!

miss ko na tuloy yung shop namin sa highschool at yung teacher ko na si mr hipolito martinez! kumpleto sa gamit at magaling na mentor!

Or, in meantime, while waiting or dreaming, if you have a drill press, you can make your own jig like this:

There are other designs on the web, but that's the one I made while waiting. One advantage is that you can have more say in the angle. Not as convenient as the Kreg jig but better than nothing, and doesn't need special drill bit or special screws.

making jigs is something I really enjoy doing. but it does have to meet my standard or repeatability and accuracy.
why did I just not make my own pocket hole jig? here are some reasons why...
1. I would have to find a way to adjust the jig to the different wood sizes I use

for the exit hole to be correct.

2. the exit hole being one of the most important in the jig since it will give it strength or make it useless.
3. without the step drill bit, stopping at the correct depth can be tricky. plus another hole with a smaller diameter must be pre-drilled for the exit hole.

now, why I like the Kreg:
1. adjustability for most wood sizes available

2. several ways to hold them to the work piece...


3. repeatability is the big plus for me.
4. ease of work, its just so easy to use. (Moji has tips :D)

My only tip is: Focus on what your doing..you may end up drilling holes on places you don't want to..:p
