My family business is Advertising Services. We make all kinds of signages and display modules. I have men that are skilled in making those wooden display racks.
Recently I received a small order for glass plaques with wooden bases. Most of our router work are done handheld, but these bases are 4x6 inches and too small to be handheld routed. So I decided to make a router table, and make it simple and cheap but sturdy enough.
Its made from one sheet of 1/2 marine plywood, few boxes of wood crews along with the power switch and wires. F-clamp was used to raise the router.
Sorry no WIP pictures, its almost finished except for the miter gauge and finishing.
Fixed Table Fence

nice work sir, the base is well made and nicely rounded. please continue posting pictures, we love them here. Though do try to limit the size to 640x480pixels para hindi lumagpas sa borders. again welcome to PHM.

Cool and quickie!
What will you do for the knobs on the fence? Or, to keep with the industrial "KISS" theme, bolts and nuts?
Re: Portable Router Table for Less than p1500 pesos
Thank You Sir Timber!
Here's more pics with the power switch set-up that turns on both the router and a household wet/dry vacuum.
Connected securely to the dust collection port in the fence.
Re: Portable Router Table for Less than p1500 pesos
Also made an adjustable fence with slots for a plywood feather board. (all came from the 1 sheet of marine plywood i used) and a miter gauge using a 1/8" x 1/2" x 18" aluminum bar.
Miter Gauge. Angle adjustment are made using a speed square referenced on the edge of the table and loosening/tightening the miter gauge handle.
With auxiliary fence with sanding paper for gripping stock.

Initially I wanted to use plastic knobs but I cant seem to find any here in Iloilo, so im decided to use plywood cut-offs and cutting them with spade bit and hole saw. It turns out rough no matter how careful you make it.
I'm eyeing on two options:
1. Cut flat knobs with the pattern on hardwood or mahogany 3/4 stock
2. Shaping 2" hardwood or mahogany stock on drill press secured with a t-bolt. shaping it with a rasp.
The pattern i'm planning to make:

wow, nicely done. impressive skill you got there sir.
Re: Portable Router Table for Less than p1500 pesos
Nice job on the miter gauge. Nice re-purpose'ing of the handle which i'll guess came off an angle grinder or drill.

Natakam akong gumawa ng knobs din, but i suddenly remembered why i didn't do it before. Stainless wings bolts are available at t. alonzo, corner recto. The stainless bolt and nuts shop. 5/16" and they have t bolts to go with it too - they fit the channels perfectly in my DP. On 1/4" size they prolly got wing bolts but not t bolts. I suppose in jig/fixture making, samahan na rin ng washers to spread out the force.

Nice DIY router table, compact sans the drawers but very functional. May ka-tropa nako sa DIY shop tools..:)
My height adjustment flower knob for my shopmade jointer was also fashioned out using hole saw only.
Welcome to PHM.

Re: Portable Router Table for Less than p1500 pesos
Found some extra time yesterday to cut my knobs, what i didn't find is my camera...
Printed my patterns and glued it to a piece of 1/2" plywood. Drilled the center depth 1/8 with a 3/8 spade bit in reverse direction to avoid tear-out. Widened the opening with a 1/2 twist bit also in reverse direction just to allow the nut to fit when hammering it lightly into place.
Cutting it into shape with a jigsaw. Produced a very smooth cut requiring no sanding of the edges.
Re: Portable Router Table for Less than p1500 pesos
Removed the nut and sanding the the knob face on the sanding plate to remove the glued pattern and easing the edges with a multi tool and remove some minimal tear out.
Applied clear epoxy and re-inserted the nut. Finally installed it to my router fence.
I found that these 3-prong are much easier to turn so im making more of these and the laminates on the edges tend to shred after some use, so a couple coats of varnish or clear gloss would help.
Pressure and torque: Its capable of applying moderate to high pressure enough not to allow shifting during use. Too much pressure or torque will definitely crush the laminate and ply. Not recommended for shop gorillas.
I'm in the middle of cutting out large 4mm acrylic 3-dimensional letters and have a lot of 4mm clear acrylic plastic laying around... time to make a BIT GUARD!

:welcome: to PHM Blackbriar75!
Thanks for sharing very pratical routing solutions. I can't help to admire, aside from your creations, you almost-void free marine ply. I think you have great ply supply there in Iloilo.
We appreciate if you could continue sharing your other works as well.
