Re: TS mobile base with RT

These were taken last Sunday. Only had the chance to upload today.

Found an aluminum "tail pipe" at Federal Hardware:

Which is roughly of the same diameter as the Zekoki pipe:

This should help in minimizing the sawdust that blows out to the front

Re: TS mobile base with RT

But something went wrong with my measurements.

That edge should be vertical! 😡

ayos to brader Joey, malaking problema ko din ang dust....pakopya ha!!

Pero...what puzzled me is the color of the blade...magkaiba talaga ang kulay bawat side?

Magkaiba rin ang size bawat side. 😀

The red one is a 40-tooth 7 1/4" Diablo from my CS. Yun kasi ang nakalagay when I installed the dust guard. Tapos naisip kong baka hindi kasya yung 10-inch. 😮

Re: TS mobile base with RT

It's been a while. Too busy with other things in the house and most of the time too tired when I get home from work.

Somehow got to work on the RT top this weekend. Still not much progress, though.

My plywood cuts aren't true off the bat. So I use a pattern bit and a straight edge to route one edge true:

The use that edge as a reference to true up the other edges:

Re: TS mobile base with RT

The RT top will hold the table saw rip fence for wide cuts. So its alignment with the TS top is critical.

I'm sure it won't be aligned when I screw it into place, so I thought of a different way of attaching it to the base.

This is the base where the top will be attached:

This is the bottom half of the RT top:

With the 1/4" bolt in place:

And the wing nut at the bottom:

Re: TS mobile base with RT

A dab of epoxy will prevent the bolt from spinning inside when I tighten the wing nut:

Glue up time!

Whoever said you can never have too many clamps is a genius. I'll get maybe one and a half dozen clamps from Harbor Freight next time.

Re: TS mobile base with RT

@joey,

you might have used a flush trim bit rather than a pattern bit.otherwise, you could have messed that aluminum bar level.

why didnt you use cauls to improve your clamping?

you can borrow mine if you need more clamps.
