What exactly is "car detailing"? My understanding is that they clean the seats and ceiling, anything else? Any recommendations? How much does it cost nowadays?

^ I think "Big Bert's" sets a nice standard on how good detailing can be. Located somewhere in Araneta ave., their reputation has been well established for years now. (couldn't locate it though.) Geez. Detailing takes too much time and too much stuff. (Takes me half a day and a bunch of products to just make my means of transportation look ok.)
For exterior after washing, you clay-->scratch remover-->glaze-->sealant/wax. (Or at least that's how i do it. Meguiars clay, 3m scratch remover, 3m hand glaze, mother's carnauba or meguiar's nxt 2.0 sealant. Some people either may be more thorough or put shortcuts. It takes half a day to finish.) Sort of like taking a bath, even after you do you'll still get some dirt off by using cotton and astringent (and then girls would use some moisturiser afterwards.)
Interiors are vacuumed, plastics wiped with a chamois with a hint of alcohol, a tray of baking soda underneath the seat.

+1 on Owyn, I think he covered much of it.
There is exterior, interior, engine and glass detailing but mainly, it just means cleaning, restoring and protecting a car part for every minute detail.
Bigbert's in Araneta is just near Panda. BB has been a pillar in the Philippine detailing industry and I have seen how they work.

I've bought a car in an auto pawn shop and now I'm trying to find out for a way to check Ford VIN, I don't want to own an automobile and not to know that it's stolen, if it is; has anybody happened to do it before, guys? You see, it's really important for me, could anybody help me please?
