Let's say you want a 2"shorter throw, take the shifter and cut it right where the pivot ball and the top half meet (right above the pivot ball), then take the top part you just cut off and cut 2" off that, put the little 2" piece aside you will need it later, then re-weld the shortened part of the shifter back on the pivot ball. then take the shifter and cut just below the pivot ball...take the 2" piece the you cut off earlier and weld it to the pivot ball where you just cut off the bottom portion then reweld the the bottom portion to the 2" piece you just welded back on.

Now what you should have done if you did it right is shortened the shifter above the pivot ball 2" and lengthened the shifter below the ball 2". Oh and FYI that is all a short shifter that you would buy for P2500 is. they just make the top shorter and the bottom longer therefore changing the pivot point in turn shortening the throw

ung asa left. yan ung nabibiling short shift.. on the right. ung stock shifter.. pansinin nyo ung sa left mahaba ung sa lower part nya??
gagayahin nyo lang un sa stock shifter... its a metter of Cut and welding..

it works.. im using mine for over 5years na..

by the way. my car is a Honda Civic Hatchback. i dont know if it works on other cars.. check nyo nalang. desame concepts lang naman mga yan eh 🙂

Enjoy!

Additional tip:

When you join the two pieces together, it would be better if both ends of the shift stick would be shaped like a pencil. Weld from there until you have completely built up the stick. This would make the welding stronger than just joining flat ends of the shift stick. Grind it until it is smooth and shaped properly. =)
