Need help on how you can make a transparent fiberglass. I really appreciate if anyone could point some steps and materials that i will need. thanks guys.

Fiberglass once saturated with clear resin will become transparent. I use a lot of fiberglass and epoxy resin but transparency is not a requirement for me so I'm really no expert in this aspect. The best place to ask is Polymer Products. They have a website but I can't seem to find my bookmark. They're surely listed in the yellow pages.

Hey bro.. i think you could use clear cast resin, it is available in polymer industries as stated above.
from my experience, if you use it alone it is clear. altho
the transparency would depend on the amount of hardener used.
if you plan to reinforce it with fibermatt, you can use finishing matt or chopped strand matt with it, altho these might blur the transparency.

Apparently, clear fiberglass panels are possible, i.e., transparent or almost transparent, not just translucent. I think the correct terms are fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) or glass-reinforced plastic (GRP)?
Anyone know of a local store that sells panels/sheets like this, clear or otherwise?

I've never done this with polymer resin, but once I tried spraying Clear acrylic paint on the chop strand, It kinda make a clear finish. but its not as strong...

I work with fiberglass sheathing on the boat I'm building. This is done by draping fiberglass cloth on the material (wood, in my case) then wetting it with epoxy by squeegeeing until the fiberglass becomes transparent and bubbles are squeezed out. Try looking for videos in youtube. There are a number of them to give you an idea of how it's done. Preferably, the fiberglass cloth is thin to make it most transparent (e.g. 250gsm).
Note, however, that while fiberglass becomes transparent, epoxy resin, at least the one I am using, adds a yellowish tint. This is fine for me since the wood I am working on ends up with a warm hue. You may want to look for epoxy that is absolutely clear (not aware of one).
Also, epoxy is not UV protected so you may want to apply a layer of UV protection. In my case, I am planning to apply some layers of marine varnish.
As for materials, both epoxy resin and fiberglass are available at Polymer Products at JBorris, Pasig (off C5) and branches. They also have a very good squeegee and rollers.

Where do you get marine Varnish.. I never tried this before.. just curious..

Marine varnish is equal to that of Spar Varnish. I think I have seen some at True Value before. You may get some info here.

That's right. I saw some in the hardware chain in Shoemart. IIRC that would be Ace.
