Re: Small Accident
Having been involved in a collision before (with a speedy underbone,) i understand a bit how it feels.
The center didn't crease because there's a pipe there that reinforces the whole door.
Where is that Armand? I suppose it's in the traffic-congested Aurora. Prior to reading this thread, i've already said to myself that it's the most stressful road i've been to, and my conclusion always get reinforced everytime i have to go there. Na-du dugyutan talaga ako sa mga tao dun.

Not a bad idea to get one of these. Just waiting for one that's not too expensive, and implemented well. Online 10? Hah.

Hi Armand,
Did you settle for repairs or cash? ( Replace bumper? )
I ask because last time I had a vehicle involved in an accident I got casa quote for repairs. The insurance settled for cash 75K.
I had the repairs done myself. 25K like nothing happened.
50K for the grief and hassles.

@owyn
It happened in EDSA Balintawak right in front of Cloverleaf Market.

Wow, that was a smart move Jay. This is the very first time, in 15 years of driving, that I got involved in vehicular accident so zero knowledge pa ako on this matter. The inhouse insurance of Honda Kalookan which is Malayan Insurance arranged for the repair and took my vehicle to their accredited auto shop. My own insurance (Northwest) didn't raise any objection or hint me for better deal so I thought that was a normal procedure. Well, i'm not wishing for a "better luck next time" situation :).

Re: Small Accident
Funny things happened last nite. The company owners allowed me to use one of their family car and its a blue Honda civic, last nite i went to Handyman to buy some things and upon returning to the parking area I couldn't find my vehicle. I went to the upper floor baka mali lang ang napuntahan ko, wala!. I went further down to another floor, wala! Alarmed and nervous i called the guard to help me find my crosswind. The guard asked "Sir san nyo ba pinarked?" I said dun lang o..upon pointing the direction I saw the blue civic and I said to myself "oooww sh....t. Right away i said to the guard "nakita ko na natakpan pala". sabay alis agad.

Re: Small Accident
A UST female 1st yr nursing student hit me on the right side with her brandnew Honda City. Obviously its her fault when she abruptly entered my lane trying to make a u-turn that is still 1 kilometer away.
Sorry, don't mean to add to your aggravation, but ... I believe it's your fault! 😮 No lawyer needed to twist out this conclusion. Should be obvious to anyone who drives here. Her black Honda is clearly ahead of your white Isuzu. As you know or should know, the driving style here is, if someone gets ahead of you, they get to do whatever they damn please, including and especially cutting into you, and you better give way otherwise you're looking at a damn accident. Getting just ever so slightly ahead gives someone the right (cultural, not legal) to cut into you. Since you didn't allow for this, you're at fault!
(Where is the right emoticon for this reply.)
Just look at the bright side, Armand. She could have been a high-powered executive with a deep bench of lawyers who could twist this event into your fault.
In my last and thankfully only accident here in recent memory, I actually bumped the lawyer itself. (Yes, itself.) The resulting behavior of this particular specimen managed to lower my view of the profession, already not that high to begin with, a few more notches. But that is another story...

Just have to be a bit tough on the negotiations. In my case my son has auto works experience ( parts sources and contact shops ) so he can pull repairs on a cheaper cost.
You win some you lose some..
The recent minor car mishap we had was with a student also. He did not have comprehensive insurance. Settlement was below budget and for sure it would be an "abonado" case for us.
Hope all will be well and your vehicle restored to it's original state when it comes back.

I'm sure that insurance is a really good invention, I'm glad I have insured my property, general insurance quote is something everybody needs, for example I have insured my house and have nothing to worry about, that's really true, why can't everybody do the same thing?
