DIYers, meron ba kayo alam na puedeng ihalo sa engine oil para mag-stop yung water from radiator? Mahina lang naman ang leak, pero makikita mo sa engine oil cap yung water/ moisture everytime I open. Mahal kasi magpa-top overhaul. Meron ako nakita nuon, but since wala akong problem na ganun during the time di ko na maalalaa :'(

IMO..Delikado yang problema mo for the car and engine...are you sure you just want a temporary remedy?

...baka imbis na makamura ka eh baka mapamahal ang option mo.

Mahirap kasing hanapin ang tunay na cause the leak diyan....it could be somewhere easy-to-reach-minor problem or it could be a major one (like a warp or a cracked engine body).

Re: Water mixing with Oil (Gas engine)

sir it would be much better if you fix that prob as soon as possible.. simple quick fix is just a waste of money...

pwede nyo din DIY yan! i can help you. 🙂

take time nga lang.. peo you can save as much as 1500-200k worth of labor charges 🙂

Depends on how old your car is, how many kilometers it has run already.

Did your car recently overheat ?? Aluminum o/head block ?

If your car is still 'relatively new,' pero may problema, baka OK...

A top overhaul, or 'piston ring dukut' are typical Pinoy gawa ng paraans that i do not agree with. 🙁 Add a little more and then you have a properly 'rebuilt' engine and, long term you save time (downtime) & money......unless you are a mekaniko yourself with a lot of spare time and can do all these for free !!

Good luck ! 🙂

Re: Water mixing with Oil (Gas engine)

Thanks for all your reply. My ride already in 56000 km. Once nag-overheat, nakalimutan kasi ibalik yung radiator cap :-X How much kaya magpa-top overhaul? For budget purposes lang baka may idea kayo. TIA

Re: Water mixing with Oil (Gas engine)

wilie,

How did you react to the overheating ?? Did you re-fill the radiator with the overheating engine running ? If you did not, then if any subsequent problems occurred (like mixing of water and oil characterised by an whitish sludgey oily goo at the mouth of the radiator cap opening), then you either warped your aluminum (usually) head and maybe even damaged the cyl. head gasket. Just hope you did not crack the cyl. head itself !!! 🙁

The usual case scenario is to have the warped Al cyl. head 'shaved' flat by a machine shop and replace the cyl. head gasket. That ought to sort things out for you.

IMHO, a top overhaul is done if there are more problems in the engine, mis-firing, smokey exhaust... at 50+ thousand kms. on your odometer, and if the engine bores/piston rings are still fine.

Have it done by the casa of your car brand or by someone that is experienced in these repairs that you really trust. The advantage of a 'casa' is that of the warranty on all their repairs.

Best of luck, 🙂
