meron bang nag cacalibrate ng digital thermometer sa pinas, preferably may kasamang certification to prove na calibrated yung instrument?
in our line of business we buy digital thermometers then after a certain number of years of service we replace them with new ones. kaya lang its getting pretty expensive, lalo na kung good working condition pa naman ang thermometer, sayang naman.

I think it will also depend on the type of digital thermometer you bought, not all can be calibrated/adjusted. Or you can check with the manufacturer/distributor.
Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

You can send your thermometer or any measuring device at ITDI (DOST) sa Bicutan, Taguig for calibration. They will provide you a calibration certificate. Gaano ba kadami thermometer mo?

Other digital thermometer pwede i-adjust yun reading during calibration.
Calibration is just a comparison of reading ng test equipment vs standard equipment (higher accuracy).
Sa calibration certificate mo malalaman kung OK gamitin yun thermometer mo. Say if you have a deviation of +- 2 degree C/F sa certificate. Then kung gagamitin mo siya sa process that requires you +- 5 degree C/F. OK pa siya. Pero kung sa +- 1 degree C/F ang requirement mo hindi na siya pwede gamitin.

@bigfoot2 sabi nga ng friend ko may thermometer na pwedeng i calibrate, like fluke ata meron. pero sobrang expensive.

i personally don't think related yung sagot ko. pero i test my thermocouple, termistor and IR thermometer (black body compensated) in ice water bath for 0 centigrade and boiling water for 100c.. both distilled water. para at lease ma sanity check ko yung temperature sensors ko.
pero since business nyo na yan. i suggest to buy calibrator. ebay or somewhere.

ok lang bro i uupdate ko din naman dapat itong thread eh, i got the thermometers calibrated already, i went for PGAtech since mas malapit samin. They have nice and very accommodating employees, and it turns out, they do calibration on different measuring devices, including mga torque wrenches;).
They charged me 1k for each calibration, which is one of the cheaper quotes i got.
bro insomartin i think thats called the ice slurry calibration method. Kainis nga kasi dito sa pinas(bfad) hindi accepted yon, dapat daw may certificate of calibration, pero i just recently found out in Australia, within the same industry, accepted ang ice slurry calibration:pif: unfair wehehe

the trick:
as stated, kung in good working condition naman yung instrument, why replace?
kung ang total amount of certification cost is greater or almost equal to the cost of NEW instrument, then just BUY a new instrument provided that it has a certification as delivered. THEN, COMPARE the old instrument (working) with the new one. if you have a good comparison or tolerable error, then you yourself has certified it Traceable with the calibration instrument you used (the new one; since it has a certification traceable also to its standard). you may calibrate also your old instrument and compare it to the new one.
