Hello everyone can you help me

Good evening everyone I've finally found a forum that can help 😀 I need to wire this switch timer / power setting dial from my old microwave to Control a fan running on 240v the terminals are marked... 123 and M... I don't no where to wire what haha... I don't Need the timer part but can make use of the power setting dial.. can anyone help with this please? And is it possible to do? Thank you in advance

Short answer: No, that is not possible.

Long answer:

For most microwave ovens, the power output of the magnetron tube cannot be adjusted. Its either ON or OFF. The cooking power is adjusted by turning the magnetron ON and OFF. The duration of the ON and OFF cycles depend on the power setting.

With that, it means the power dial is not connected in series with the magnetron tube. It is likely just a potentiometer that controlls whatever it is that turns the magnetron ON and OFF.

That means that dial is not designed to carry high current, which is what you want to do. If you connect it to the fan, magic smoke will come out of the dial. Maybe some sparks, too.

Thank you for you you e'er reply may friend... you might have just saved my life haha... no I have so much spares and scrap part from years of salvage I need to male something from it all haha... thanks mate

That link says 250vac ? Is this not the same as or speak it not mean that I could wire it to a 240v household plug and fan or is v and vac different?

It would be better if you told us what you want to do......What is the objective? A switch to control what. I might be slow but it isn't obvious
Why do you want to use the fan?
Do you want the fan speed proportional to the temperature?
Do you want the fan to turn on/off automatically with the cooker?
