When we envisioned the new iPhone, we landed on a remarkably thin and light design. But it’s nearly impossible to make a device so thin and so light without sacrificing features or performance.
We could have taken the easy way out and designed something more reasonable and less remarkable. But we didn’t. If the technology didn’t exist, we invented it. If a component wasn’t small enough, we re-imagined it. If convention was standing in the way, we left it behind. The result is iPhone 5: the thinnest, lightest, fastest iPhone ever.
iPhone 5 is just 7.6 millimetres thin. To make that happen, Apple engineers had to think small, component by component. They created a nano-SIM card, which is 44 per cent smaller than a micro-SIM. They also developed a unique cellular solution that allows iPhone 5 to support the latest wireless technologies but doesn’t sacrifice speed, battery life or its slim profile. The intelligent, reversible Lightning connector is 80 per cent smaller than the 30-pin connector. The 8-megapixel iSight camera has even more features — like panorama and dynamic low-light boost — yet it’s 20 per cent smaller. And the new A6 chip is up to two times faster than the A5 chip but 22 per cent smaller. Even with so much inside, iPhone 5 is 20 per cent lighter and 18 per cent thinner than iPhone 4S.
Re: iPhone 5
although i have a iphone 3Gs, its becoming a hassle to have it on your side while you do woodworks, plumbing, tile laying, painting, welding and other handyman works.
the features of the new iphone 5 is remarkable and i am pretty sure a lot will queue in stores when it becomes available in PI.
blessed with a hand of a workman..the qwerty keyboard with small keys are annoying most of the time using these smartfones.
yes i have decided, i will buy a less expensive phone that can be dropped, grazed, abused, dirtied without having to worry for an expensive third party cover/jacket/sleeve/screen protector.
but surely i will miss the user friendlly features on my iphone..
🙁

Pssst, V..... i bought an HTC one X last April and it runs on Quad core 1.5ghz at the cost of only 24-28K that time. Up to now i still think its better than the Samsung S3 and its other contemporaries. I have yet to see the features of this iPhone 5 and hope it was worth the wait.:coffee::glassesf:
Re: iPhone 5
Sept 21st will be the launching date in Asia Pacific. I can't wait to see the new iPhone 5, I'm not really a big fan. Ka Willy my brother in law is happy with his HTC one X, but i think Apple is catching up with Samsung S3.
Sad to hear that Nokia Lumia is not a big hit in the market. A company that dominated the mobile phone market for decades.:(

With all the reduction in size what do you think was sacrificed in the new iphone5? The s3 built on it's battery life but look at the size of it. It's bigger than the Htc one x. Look at the LG's latest model, humongous d ba? All just to extend battery life. Sa IPhone 5 kaya being reduced in size ano na compromised? The s3 still has a bit of lag compared to my Htc kaya I opted to wait for the Iphone5 to see if there is an improvement. Sept.21 is just around the corner so we'll find out soon.:unsure::nerves:
Re: iPhone 5
Love my ipod, love my ipad, love my macbook, but gave my iphone to my son when I got it.
Reason? I'm a keyboard-phone-guy. Never could get the hang of texting on a tap-screen. Using a BB and love it. Too bad the company's not doing well and looks headed for demise.
Re: iPhone 5
i am excited too for this new clone of iphone but i am rooting to this nokia model
its the nokia asha 300! well..a clone of the touch and type x3-02 which i had for a few months but felt it wasnt good enough due to the four column keys...the space bar key is located at the bottom right down the corner and was pain in the arse reaching that area with my arthritic thumb!
this asha 300 only has 3 columns, just like your N3210 with very soft keys much like texting on a screen..
now you know it...i blew it but i know i will be contented with this model...i hope it will be for keeps thru hell and high tide.
today i will go to the mall and get this one for me! bye bye iphone 3Gs!

Dude, totally agree with you, because iPhone has many vulnerabilities and you know, it's so fragile... For example, my iPhone felt down on the floor and the glass was totally broken, by the way, after this case it couldn't be turned on... So, even the guys from Apple repair shop couldn't do anything... That's why I decided to sell it and the only buyer I found were these guys www.buybackboss.com/, and you know, after this case I decided to live without any smartphone...

I can understand your complaints about the fragility of the smartphone. But on the other hand, I definitely have no complaints about electronic stuffing. This is the most convenient and well-protected phone I know.
This is a simple conclusion. Apple has all the features to not only bring together the best programmers but also provide regular API testing. I watched how such services work and I can say that almost all errors are detected during such a check. This technique began to be adopted by other software companies. I believe that this will only improve the quality.
