i don't know if its the right place to post but i just want to know how to compute yung for example you are using something na 500 watts for 10 mins, how much will i pay for it if the rate is P4.50 per kwh? pano ba pagcocompute nun? anyone? thanks ha
Re: power consumption
guess lang bro he he he
500W/1000=0.5kw
10min/60=0.16hr
0.5kw x 0.16hr = 0.08kw-hr
0.08kw-hr x P4.50 = 0.37
Re: power consumption
you mean sa 500 watts na appliance na ginamit mo ng 10 mins ay 37 cents lang ang babayadan? kasi diba ang kwh is around 5 pesos.
Re: power consumption
Yes, a kilowatt hour is electric consumption over time. If you used a 1 kilowatt appliance like an electric iron for one hour, that appliance consumes 1 kWH. Then you pay P5.40 for the use.
But if you use it only for 30 minutes, then you pay only P2.70.
As another example, an electric fan that consumes 100 watts and used for 10 hours will consume 1 kWH. It is not just the wattage rating, but the number of hours used that determines how much we pay Meralco.
Re: power consumption
I agree with the explanations, but look at your meralco bill, the KWH consumed was just a part what we pay them. We pay for systems loss which is stolen elecricity and losses inherent to electrical system, Foreign currency adjustment for the fluctuations in foreign exchange because they have foreign loans that is affected by this and so many other entries that they don't even bother to explain to us. ???
Re: power consumption
To get the cost just average your previous bills meaning divide the peso amount by the actual kw-hr and you'll get the P/Kw-hr. This would somehow include all the other costs like currency adjustments, tansmission losses, distribution charges etc. etc. This unit rate would then be used to multiply to your appliance rating and hours used.
